Hawzah News Agency- According to the public relations of Bagher al Uloom University, the second international conference of the Multipolar World Movement was held in Russia with the presence of more than 300 representatives from 130 different countries.
Hujjat al-Islam Hamid Parsania, one of the invitees of this conference, sent a note to the secretariat of the conference and presented his article under the title "Identity and Future of Western Civilization".
He stated in his note,” worldliness - secularism - and neglect of the spiritual world, and as a result its absence, is the most important concept to describe the identity of the new culture and civilization of the Western world. In the historical past, secularization, i.e. becoming worldly, has been a continuous thing, but the spiritual and holy approach has always had a serious and dominant presence in the field of public culture and also in scientific and epistemological institutions. For this reason, the orientation towards the world has hidden itself under the cover of spiritual interpretations. However, due to the historical reasons of the accumulation of secularization, the modern West was able to take its theoretical and philosophical form in the shape of secularism and under the title of demythologizing the world in the form of a dominant ideology, and in this world, new epistemological phenomena entered the field human life.”
He continued: Intellect, which before that, as the Holy Spirit and the general and extensive grace of God, made the world and man clear, was first reduced to the horizon of human knowledge and conceptual understanding, and finally a subjective matter. And then it became a cultural and historical intersubjective phenomenon.
This seminary researcher added: Empiricism and materialism, which is a kind of worldly realism, became one of the dominant epistemological currents in this world. Philosophers such as Descartes, Bacon, Hume, Kant, Nietzsche, Foucault, and theorists such as Hegel, Feuerbach, and Marx have shaped this world.
In this conference, important scientific figures from different countries gave presentations, some of them are as follows:
Evandro Agazzi, Jacques Derrida, Thomas Kuhn, Hans Lenk, K. Satchidananda Murty, Jean-Luc Nancy, Paul Ricœur, Richard Rorty, Jean-Paul Sartre, Jürgen Habermas, Jaakko Hintikka, Vittorio Hösle, D.P. Chattopadhyaya, and also outstanding natural scientists, such as Nobel Prize winners I.R. Prigogine, Roger Sperry, Hermann Haken.
